the oracle
one card a day. it’s the same for everyone who visits today, and it changes at midnight. don’t overthink it, that’s the whole point of a card.
the sigil forge
every forge draws a new one from the same words. keep pressing until one feels like yours, then charge it and let it go.
a little historywhat a sigil actually is
The word descends from the Latin sigillum — a seal, a little sign. Medieval magicians drew them for spirits, one exact glyph per entity, whole ceremonies required. Very high-maintenance.
Then in 1913 a broke London artist named Austin Osman Spare published a book with the most baroque title imaginable and quietly invented the modern method: skip the spirits, address your own subconscious directly. Write the desire, reduce it to a glyph you can no longer read, charge it, and forget it on purpose.
The forgetting is the mechanism. Your conscious mind is the sentinel that argues you out of everything. A sigil smuggles the wish past it while it’s distracted. It runs on apophenia — the wiring that makes you find faces in clouds and fate in a symbol you drew.
it’s not woo. it’s just outwitting the bouncer in your own head.bonus ritualcharge it by the moon

the moon, & you
full moon
the oldest coincidencewhy the moon and your body rhyme
Moon, month, and menstruation descend from one ancient root meaning “to measure.” The moon was humanity’s first calendar; the synodic month runs about 29.5 days.
The honest part: a large 2020s study found cycles used to synchronise with the moon before roughly 2010, then largely stopped. The suspect is artificial light — screens grew louder than the sky. So no, you are not broken if you don’t bleed on the new moon.
rent-freemoon facts that live in my head
the moon drifts about 3.8cm further away each year. slowly abandoning us. relatable.
a wobble called libration lets us glimpse 59% of it. the “dark side” just never turns to us.
its pull slows earth down. a day was maybe 6 hours once. it’s quietly giving us time.
norse myth: two wolves chase the sun and moon. an eclipse is one catching up.
(the sky feels bigger up in that top corner tonight.)
